Warm Temperatures Continue in Coachella Valley, But Cooler Days Ahead

The Coachella Valley continues to experience warm weather, but a shift is on the way. Yesterday marked the warmest day of the year so far at 97°F, though it fell short of the 99°F record set in 1986. While still above normal, temperatures will ease into the 80s today, offering some relief.

This morning, temperatures vary across the region:

Big Bear: 23°F

Yucca Valley: 50°F

29 Palms: 56°F

Indio: 62°F

Palm Springs: High of 86°F today

A wind advisory remains in effect for the San Gorgonio Pass and Inland Empire mountains through 4 PM, with gusts picking up in some areas. The Coachella Valley is not included in the advisory, though dry conditions will persist.

Weekend Outlook:

Friday: Mostly sunny, 85°F

Saturday: Slight cooldown, upper 70s, light showers possible over mountains

Sunday-Monday: A second system moves in, bringing more cloud cover and a chance for rain west of the Valley. Monday will be the coolest day, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Rain accumulation is expected to be minimal, with most showers staying west of the Valley. However, onshore winds may increase Saturday and Sunday, bringing gusty conditions in wind-prone areas.

Stay tuned for updates as the weekend weather system develops.
