Coachella City Council Member Yadira Perez Resigns from Sheriff’s Department
In an ongoing developing story, Coachella City Council Member Yadira Perez has officially resigned from her position within the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department following her husband's arrest earlier this week. Perez had served in the department for nearly two decades before stepping down after being informed that her involvement in the case would be subject to an investigation.
The arrest of her husband has brought increased scrutiny to Perez’s position, both within the Sheriff's Department and the City Council. While she has vacated her role with the department, questions remain about her future on the Coachella City Council. The councilwoman’s tenure with the city has yet to be determined, as local officials have not provided clarity on the situation.
We reached out to the Coachella City Council for comment but have not received any response as of yet. As authorities continue to investigate the case surrounding the arrest, the public is awaiting further updates regarding Perez’s position in both local government and law enforcement.
