Stuntman Injured During Human Cannonball Act at Riverside County Fair
A shocking moment unfolded at the Riverside County Fair in Indio this weekend when a stuntman performing a human cannonball act suffered an injury after missing his safety net.
The performer, known as "Rocket Man" Valencia, was launched from a cannon as part of his high-flying act. However, video footage shows him bouncing off the net and landing hard on the ground. Witnesses were stunned as emergency crews rushed to his aid.
Officials say that while the net is designed to catch and cushion his landing, some conditions may have contributed to the mishap. Valencia was quickly transported from the fairgrounds to a local hospital for treatment. Fortunately, despite the intense impact, he was expected to be released from the hospital later in the evening.
The incident has sparked concerns over safety measures at the event, but fair organizers have yet to release an official statement regarding any changes to future performances.
