Big Bear Valley Eagles Welcome New Hatchlings!
Jackie and Shadow, the beloved eagle pair from Big Bear Valley, have welcomed two new eaglets, with the first hatching at 11:29 p.m. last night and the second at 4:29 a.m. this morning. Experts say the third egg could hatch at any moment. The public will have a chance to help name the eaglets, with third graders in Big Bear Lake making the final decision, as they study eagles in school. The eaglets will stay in the nest for about 10 to 14 weeks before taking flight. Meanwhile, Spirit, a previous eaglet, has been spotted occasionally, while Simba, another past eaglet, sadly passed away at one year old. The Big Bear community eagerly awaits further updates as this new eagle family grows.
