Now, the Agua Caliente Entertainment Report, brought to you by Agua Caliente Casinos.
Oscar-winning director Bong Joon-ho (Parasite) is back with Mickey 17, a gripping sci-fi thriller hitting theaters this weekend. Starring Robert Pattinson, the film follows Mickey Barnes, a disposable worker on a distant planet who is repeatedly regenerated after dying—until a glitch creates two of him, setting off a dangerous chain of events.
Pattinson, who plays multiple versions of Mickey, describes the experience as both fun and challenging. “Eventually, [Bong] got to a shorthand where he’d just say, ‘Be more 17 or more 18,’” Pattinson said. “You kind of just realized in your body how to do it.”
The cast had high praise for Bong’s meticulous directing style. “He literally just shoots the storyboard,” one cast member noted, adding that this structured approach allowed for seamless energy on set. The director’s precise vision has created a film that blends action, humor, and deep existential questions.
With stunning visuals, a thought-provoking storyline, and Bong Joon-ho’s signature style, Mickey 17 promises to be a must-watch for sci-fi fans.
