An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up for Wednesday, March 5, 2025!

The Coachella Valley will see building clouds today as an upper-low begins to approach the Southland.

There will be widespread precipitation over Southern California between this afternoon and early-Friday morning. But, the Valley will only see a few, widely-scattered, hit-and-miss, light showers... primarily on its West end.

Also included, lots of snow with this system. The freezing level will plummet from 8500-feet Wednesday afternoon to just 4000-feet Thursday evening. Idyllwild will experience rain changing to flurries while The Tram is expected to see several-inches of new snow.

A Wind Advisory has been posted for the West end of the Valley into the San Gorgonio Pass, High Desert and Desert Hot Springs areas between this evening and Friday morning.

Valley skies will slowly clear on Friday, followed by warming temps on Saturday.
