Imperial Irrigation District Approves 25% Summer Power Bill Reduction

The Imperial Irrigation District (IID) Board of Directors has approved a major cost-saving measure for customers, reducing power bills by 25% during the peak summer months of June through September. This reduction comes from the elimination of the energy cost adjustment charge, backed by an $81 million allocation.

The initiative aims to offer more stable and transparent rate structures, benefiting over 150,000 IID customers. In addition to this short-term relief, the board has previously approved long-term stability rates set to remain in place through 2028.

IID officials say the plan underscores their commitment to prioritizing customer savings, ensuring residents receive financial relief during the hottest months of the year.
