Protesters Rally Outside Vancouver Tesla Dealership Against Elon Musk

A group of demonstrators gathered outside a Vancouver Tesla dealership over the weekend, protesting Elon Musk and his perceived influence on government and democracy. The rally, organized by Indivisible Greater Vancouver, was the latest in a series of ongoing demonstrations against the billionaire entrepreneur.

"Tesla makes fine products, and we're not here to interfere with their business," said protester Alan Unel. "They're a symbol of Elon Musk, and that's the reason we're here—to fight against the symbol that is taking control of our government and destroying democracy."

Protesters say they will continue their demonstrations in the coming weeks, urging action against what they see as unchecked power and corporate influence.

While the protests remained peaceful, recent incidents of vandalism and violence at Tesla dealerships across the Columbia River have sparked police investigations. In Tigard, officers say bullets damaged cars and windows at a dealership overnight last Thursday. Additionally, a Salem man was arrested and arraigned last week for allegedly possessing Molotov cocktails and attempting to destroy property at a Tesla location in January. Federal officials also linked him to previous gunfire damage at another dealership in February.

Demonstrators at the Vancouver rally condemned such actions, stressing their commitment to non-violent civil protest.

"It's completely inappropriate. Violent change doesn't work," one protester said. "What works is peaceful, organized activism, and that's what we're here for."
