Madison Keys Extends Win Streak at BNP Paribas Open, Set to Face Belinda Bencic
The rain may have delayed play earlier this week, but tennis is back in full swing at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. Wednesday’s action saw Madison Keys continue her dominant form, staging an impressive comeback to defeat Donna Vekic in a nail-biting second set tiebreak.
Keys, who won her first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open in January and recently celebrated her 30th birthday, is now riding a 15-match winning streak. Despite being down 3-5 in the second-set tiebreak, she fought back to win 9-7, shifting the momentum entirely in her favor and securing the victory.
“She started playing more confidently, hitting through the ball, driving the court, and controlling the points,” analysts noted, highlighting the same aggressive play that earned her the Australian Open title.
Up next, Keys will face Belinda Bencic, who earlier defeated Coco Gauff in straight sets. The two last met in 2022 on clay, and Bencic, returning to the tour after giving birth last year, has been playing top-tier tennis.
With the last American woman standing in the tournament, fans are eager to see if Keys can continue her run and claim the BNP Paribas Open title.
Stay tuned for updates on Taylor Fritz’s upcoming match at 6 p.m.
