Army Vet, Nurse, and Singer Stephan Skokins Takes Over Last Night's Weather Report

A man of many talents took center stage as NBC Palm Springs’ Weathercaster of the Day. Stephan Skokins, a national recording artist, Army veteran, and longtime registered nurse, delivered the forecast with his unique charisma, blending community updates with a touch of musical flair.

Skokins highlighted upcoming events, including the first day of spring, the Brothers of the Desert’s sixth wellness summit, and the 33rd anniversary of VillageFest in Palm Springs. He also took a moment to sing a heartfelt birthday tribute to his mother, making for a fun and lively segment.

As for the weather, Skokins noted that Palm Springs hit a high of 78 degrees—slightly below the seasonal average of 81. Looking ahead, a warming trend is on the way, with temperatures climbing into the 90s by midweek. While a storm system is bringing rain to northern areas, the Coachella Valley will continue to enjoy warm and dry conditions, with pleasant temperatures for those attending VillageFest.

Adding to the fun, Skokins shared his morning dog-walking forecast, encouraging early risers to bundle up with temperatures starting at 53 degrees before climbing to 71 by noon.

Before signing off, he channeled the spirit of Carol Burnett, reminding viewers that “comes the time we have to say so long.” But with his infectious energy and engaging presence, his time as Weathercaster of the Day won’t soon be forgotten.
