Palm Springs Airport Partners with Desert Arc to Boost Inclusive Employment
Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) has announced a new five-year partnership with Desert Arc, an organization dedicated to providing job opportunities for people with disabilities. Through this collaboration, Desert Arc’s landscape maintenance team will oversee critical upkeep services at the airport, ensuring a well-maintained and welcoming environment for travelers.
The contract includes seven-day-a-week coverage, with workers handling weed abatement, trash services, trimming, mowing, and planting across airport grounds. The initiative highlights both the capabilities of Desert Arc’s workforce and PSP’s commitment to inclusivity and community involvement.
"It's always been my goal to have something like this to showcase what we do. And the fact is that our folks are great workers and will not let you down," said a Desert Arc representative.
Desert Arc’s President and CEO, Richard Balocco, emphasized the broader significance of the initiative, noting that it not only provides meaningful employment but also showcases the contributions people with disabilities can make as active members of the workforce.
This new collaboration is expected to set a precedent for similar partnerships, strengthening the airport’s ties to the local community while promoting workforce diversity.
