Hundreds Protest Elon Musk at Tesla Dealership in Cathedral City Over Federal Job Cuts

More than 250 people from across the Coachella Valley gathered Sunday outside the Tesla Service Center in Cathedral City to protest Elon Musk and his reported role in federal job cuts under the Trump administration.

The demonstration took place on Perez Road and grew large enough to spill onto the sidewalk along Highway 111. While Cathedral City Police were present, the protest remained peaceful.

Protesters expressed outrage over what they describe as Musk’s unchecked influence in Washington, including the reduction of federal jobs and the elimination of certain departments. Demonstrators say they believe these actions have caused irreparable harm to the country.

Organizers told NBC Palm Springs their movement has grown rapidly in recent weeks. “We started five weeks ago with 10 people. Last week we had 150. Now we’re over 250,” one organizer said. “People are hearing about it on the news, seeing us on the street, and joining in. What are they telling us? ‘Finally, action. Something is being done.’”

The protest was one of the largest political demonstrations recently seen in Cathedral City, reflecting rising local dissent tied to national political concerns.

Organizers announced plans to return next Sunday at noon for another rally outside the Tesla Service Center.
