Armed Robbery of Mail Carrier in Palm Desert Prompts Search for Two Suspects
Authorities are searching for two suspects involved in the armed robbery of a mail carrier that occurred Monday morning in Palm Desert.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, the robbery took place around 10:45 a.m., when two Hispanic men approached a U.S. Postal Service worker and robbed the carrier at gunpoint.
Officials say the suspects took some of the victim’s personal belongings, though it is not yet clear if any mail was stolen during the incident.
After the robbery, the two men fled the scene in a truck. The Sheriff's Department has not released a description of the vehicle or the suspects.
No injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made as of yet. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department or Valley Crime Stoppers.
This incident comes amid growing concerns about safety for postal workers, who have increasingly become targets in recent years.
