Border Patrol seizes over $96,000 worth of methamphetamine hidden inside vehicle

On Monday morning, El Centro Sector border patrol agents arrested a United States citizen for smuggling methamphetamine. The arrest occurred just before noon, when a sedan was referred for a secondary inspection at the highway 86 immigration checkpoint after a K-9 alerted to the vehicle. Agents discovered 114.5 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in an aftermarket department valued at $96,942. The driver was arrested and the case was handed over to the DEA for prosecution.
