17 Year Old Girl Found Dead in Mecca from Apparent Gunshot Wounds

A 17-year-old girl was found dead from apparent gunshot wounds today in Mecca. Deputies were called to the 91800 block of Avenue 66 shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday on a reported assault with a deadly weapon, according to the
Riverside County Sheriff's Department. They found the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene despite lifesaving efforts from paramedics, according to the department. Sheriff's homicide detectives assumed the investigation from that
point. The department said no arrests had been made, and the girl's name was not publicly released.
