DAP Health Celebrates Community Support at Sold-Out 31st Annual Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards
The sold-out event is one of the biggest nights of the year for DAP Health, drawing more than 1,000 passionate supporters for an evening dedicated to community care and commitment.
NBC Palm Springs' Chloe Carlson has been covering the event live alongside Steven Henke, who brought plenty of sparkle to the pink carpet—literally—wearing 37 carats of dazzling jewelry. Henke, a familiar face at the Chase, shared the excitement as arrivals continued to stream in well past the hour mark, with guests showing off show-stopping outfits for the cause.
The event also features a dazzling raffle with a 12-carat diamond bracelet courtesy of El Paseo Jewelers and additional pieces by Brandon Boswell Diamonds.
DAP Health CEO David Brinkman joined live coverage to spotlight the organization's growing impact. Under his leadership, DAP Health has expanded to 25 clinics from the Salton Sea to the San Diego coast, now serving 88,000 people across Southern California. Brinkman oversees 850 employees and 400 volunteers who deliver critical care—especially for low-income Californians.
Brinkman, who will deliver the evening's keynote, shared his core message: “We need to stay committed to caring for our community, and we must end the HIV epidemic.”
He also addressed looming concerns about potential federal funding cuts. “If we’re not here, people go to the emergency room—that’s three times the cost for taxpayers,” Brinkman said. “Events like tonight help generate vital revenue for our work.”
With over three decades of history, the Steve Chase Awards remain a symbol of generosity and purpose. “This is a beautiful night of celebration and recommitment to the cause,” Brinkman added.
Stay tuned for more live coverage from the event later in the show.
