Desert Best Friends Closet Empowers Job Seekers Ahead of Annual Fashion Fundraiser
Securing employment often starts with the right first impression — and Desert Best Friends Closet in Palm Desert is helping local residents do just that.
The nonprofit provides professional attire, resume support, job application guidance, and interview prep through its Bridge to Employment program. The goal: to help people overcome barriers to employment and gain the confidence and tools needed to succeed in the workforce.
“It makes a huge difference,” said a representative from the organization. “Many people just need someone to advocate for them and show them a path forward.”
Clients say the program has given them valuable skills and renewed self-confidence. “We all need help,” one participant shared. “Sometimes the biggest hurdle is asking for it.”
To support its expanding services, Desert Best Friends Closet is hosting its 11th annual “Put Your Best Shoe Forward” fashion show and luncheon on Friday, April 4 at Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage. NBC Palm Springs' Kai Beach will co-host the event, which gives clients the chance to share their success stories and showcase their transformation.
Each year, the organization helps hundreds of individuals gain access to employment opportunities, boosting not just job prospects but also lives.
