Man Found Dead In Riverside County Jail

A male inmate was pronounced dead Sunday while in custody at the Robert Presley Detention Center, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced.

Deputies found the unresponsive man in his cell and attempted life-saving measures, but responding paramedics pronounced him dead. Investigators from the sheriff's Office Corrections Central Investigations unit assumed the investigation.

The inmate was identified as 49-year-old Stephen Alan Frost of Riverside, and investigators said there were no signs of foul play.

Anyone with information about the death was encouraged to contact investigator Brett Devine at 951-955-7019.

Frost was booked on March 25 on suspicion of public intoxication and obstructing an officer, with a felony revocation hearing for a possible probation or parole violation, according to inmate records. He was being held without bail and had an out-of-county warrant.
