Beatles Biopics Announced, Green Lantern Casting, and More in Tonight’s Entertainment News
Get ready to experience Beatlemania like never before. Sony Pictures has confirmed casting for its ambitious new project: four feature-length biopics, each telling the story of The Beatles from one band member’s perspective. The films are set to release in 2028.
Harris Dickinson (Where the Crawdads Sing) will portray John Lennon, Paul Mescal (Gladiator 2) will take on Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan (The Banshees of Inisherin) steps into the role of Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) will play George Harrison.
In superhero news, Nathan Fillion will suit up as Green Lantern Guy Gardner in HBO’s upcoming series Lanterns. He’ll first appear in the role in the new Superman film hitting theaters this summer.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Easterseals Disability Film Challenge is underway. This year’s genre: thriller and suspense. The global competition includes 160 teams, all required to include a person with a disability in front of or behind the camera. Films are due April 6, and winners will be announced May 8 at Sony Studios.
And finally, Tiffany Boone voices Surabi in Mufasa: The Lion King, now available on Blu-ray and DVD. Boone called the role “an honor” and a full-circle moment for a lifelong fan.
