Indio Announces "Festival Season" Street Closures
The City of Indio on Tuesday officially announced their plan for traffic and street closures for the 2025 "Festival Season," consisting of the Coachella Music and Arts Festival and Stagecoach. That anticipated season will run from April 11th through the 27th, a three week period. Already in place to accommodate the festivities, Avenue 50 between Monroe Street and Madison Avenue has been closed and will continue to be closed until Monday, May 5th.
City officials recommend the following alternative routes:
-Highway 111
-Dr. Carreon Boulevard
-Avenue 48
-Avenue 52
To further assist festival goers and organizers, during the actual event weekends, April 11th-14th, 18th-21st, and 25th-28th, the following roads will be closed:
-Avenue 49 between Hjorth Street and Monroe Street
-Avenue 50 between Madison Street and Jackson Street
-Hjorth Street between Avenue 49 and Avenue 50
-Madison Street between Avenue 49 and Avenue 52
The city recommends these routes during that time period:
North and South travel
-Washington Street,
-Jackson Street,
-Calhoun Street
-Golf Center Parkway
East and West travel
-Highway 111,
-Fred Waring Drive,
-Miles Avenue,
-Dr. Carreon Boulevard
-Avenue 54
In addition to these closures, approximately 40,000 guests will be shuttled into and out of concert venues from various locations throughout the valley to ease traffic. The city also advises that noise may be heard starting on Thursdays of each weekend due to sound testing.
