A Wisconsin police officer is being praised for his courageous actions after rescuing a man and two dogs from a burning home in Racine on Tuesday—and it was all caught on dramatic body camera footage.

Officer Max Golden of the Racine Police Department responded to reports of a house fire on Blake Avenue. As flames engulfed the home, Ring doorbell video captured the moment Officer Golden raced to the scene. Upon arriving, he was told someone was still trapped inside.

Without hesitation, Golden leapt over two fences and kicked down the door—taking nearly a minute to force his way in. Inside, he found a man unconscious on the floor and two unresponsive dogs.

“Sir! Can you hear me?” Golden is heard shouting as he pulled the man to safety. He also carried the dogs out and remained by one of them until it showed signs of life, eventually rolling over. The second dog also recovered and was seen walking around as other officers arrived to assist.

Firefighters soon arrived to transport the man to the hospital. Two children were also taken in for precautionary treatment but are expected to be okay. Officer Golden was treated for minor injuries and is currently recovering.

Authorities say the cause of the fire remains under investigation, though nothing criminal is suspected at this time.
