Manny the Movie Guy Reviews "Until Dawn" and "The Accountant 2"
It’s time for the Agua Caliente Entertainment Report, brought to you by Agua Caliente Casinos — and this week, Manny the Movie Guy takes us through two new releases: the horror thriller Until Dawn and the action-packed sequel The Accountant 2.
First up, Until Dawn drops viewers into a nightmarish loop where characters face increasingly terrifying threats — and only have a limited number of deaths left. Inspired by the popular video game, the movie tries to deliver chills, but according to Manny, it drifts far from its source material.
Directed by David F. Sandberg (Lights Out, Annabelle: Creation), Until Dawn has enough jump scares and solid performances, but the characters are often frustrating. Manny advises horror fans to “check your brain at the door” and gives the film two and a half out of four kisses.
Next, Manny reviewed The Accountant 2, with Ben Affleck reprising his role as Christian Wolfe, the money-laundering math genius. This time, it’s all about the brotherly bond between Christian and Braxton, played by Jon Bernthal.
Director Gavin O’Connor returns and smartly leans into the Affleck-Bernthal chemistry, grounding the sequel with humor and heart, while still delivering high-stakes action. Manny says The Accountant 2 actually improves on the original, earning three out of four kisses.
