Broadway Duo Nick and Desi Bring "Broadway to Hollywood" to the Purple Room This Saturday

On this week’s Desert Entertainment, host Tod Macofsky welcomed Broadway stars Nick Dromard and Desiree DaVar, better known as Nick and Desi, ahead of their exciting cabaret show "Broadway to Hollywood" at the Purple Room.

Winners of the Broadway World Award for Best Duo Show in Cabaret in New York City, Nick and Desi are now lighting up the cabaret scene with a show that blends personal stories, Broadway hits, and classic Hollywood musical numbers.

Nick, originally from Canada, has performed on Broadway in Jersey Boys, Mary Poppins, The Boy From Oz, and Oklahoma. Desi, a proud Orange County native, made her Broadway debut playing Anita in West Side Story — a role she called her dream come true.

The two met in 2012 during a production of White Christmas and have been married for eight years. Their six-year-old daughter is already showing signs of following in their musical footsteps, but Nick and Desi are also encouraging her to explore all kinds of passions.

During the segment, they shared their favorite performance pieces, including a moving duet of La Vie en Rose — the song Desi walked down the aisle to at their wedding — and an energetic, jazzed-up version of Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, which they performed live on the show.
