An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up for Friday, May 9, 2025!

As an upper-level ridge of high pressure positions itself over Southern California, the Coachella Valley will experience its hottest temperatures -- so-far this year -- today, tomorrow and again on Sunday.

Those highs will reside between 104° and 110° all three afternoons. Although the National Weather Service has not issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the Valley, residents susceptible to the extreme heat should limit their time outdoors while under the Sun.

Next -- as a disturbance approaches the Southwest -- on-shore winds will become a bit gusty while those midday temps begin to back-off.

Westerly winds will be at their strongest during the late-afternoon/evening hours on Monday and Tuesday. Also, Valley highs will peak in the 80s for your Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week.
