Palm Springs Planning Commission Approves In-N-Out Project at Smoketree Village

The popular fast food chain In-N-Out is one step closer to opening in Palm Springs. At a meeting held last night, the Palm Springs Planning Commission unanimously approved plans for the new location at the Smoketree Village Shopping Plaza on East Palm Canyon Drive.

The proposed 4,000 square foot restaurant will include a drive-through, a much-anticipated feature for local fans. While the Planning Commission gave the green light, there are still several requirements that must be addressed before the project can move forward. These include ensuring adequate pedestrian safety measures and maintaining proper tree coverage on the site.

The next steps include review by a subcommittee and the city’s Architectural Review Committee, which will evaluate the project’s design. Only after these approvals can construction officially begin.

The project’s approval has sparked widespread interest and discussion among residents, with many eager to see the iconic burger brand become a fixture in Palm Springs.
