Rosa Fire Near Anza and Pinon Pines Burns 1,100 Acres, Evacuations Ongoing

This is an update for our social channels as of 8:30 p.m. on Monday evening.

The Rosa Fire burning near Anza and Pinon Pines has now scorched over 1,100 acres and remains 0% contained, according to CAL FIRE. Flames continue to creep dangerously close to Highway 74, prompting a massive response from firefighters on the ground and in the air.

Six evacuation orders are currently in effect, along with one evacuation warning. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department reports that approximately 80% of Pinon Pines is being evacuated. CAL FIRE says the fire's movement continues to vary depending on local weather conditions.

Evacuation centers are now open at the Desert Community Center in Palm Desert and the Anza Community Center. For those with pets, San Jacinto Animal Shelter and Coachella Valley Animal Campus are offering shelter support.
