CPSC warns of fake LeBoo-Boo toys posing choking hazards for children
In consumer news, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued an urgent warning for collectors and parents about counterfeit versions of the popular LeBoo-Boo toys. The knock-off plush figures and keychains, often marketed under names like “LeFou-Fous” or “foo-foos,” are considered dangerous and pose a serious choking hazard for children.
According to the CPSC, the imitation toys are small enough to fit into a child’s mouth and can block their airway. In addition, the dolls are prone to breaking apart, releasing small pieces that further increase the risk of choking.
The fake toys are often sold at deep discounts compared to the authentic La Boo Boo products. Genuine items from Pop Mart include verification features such as a sticker or QR code, which counterfeit versions typically lack.
Officials are urging consumers to avoid purchasing the fakes and to check their collections for unsafe products. Parents are advised to immediately remove any suspected counterfeits from their homes to help prevent accidental injury.
