Opening in theaters this weekend, "Last Days" tells the controversial true story of John Allen Chau, a young American missionary who attempted to convert an isolated tribe on North Sentinel Island in 2018 and met a tragic end.

Director Justin Lin, known for the Fast and Furious franchise, returns to indie filmmaking with his first biographical drama. In an exclusive interview with Manny the Movie Guy, Lin revealed he was struck by the news story at an airport in 2018.

"That's somebody's son, that's somebody's brother," Lin recalled. "For me to judge someone so quick and dismiss him in 20 seconds, it didn't sit well with me."

The film features Sky Yang as John Allen Chau, Ken Leung as his father Patrick, and Radhika Apte as Meera. The cast and crew spent two and a half years bringing this
