Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco Leads Early Polls in California Governor’s Race
Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco is gaining early traction in the race for California governor, topping the latest voter preference poll with 13 percent support among registered voters. He is followed by Democratic candidate Katie Porter at 11 percent and Xavier Becerra at 8 percent. However, the poll also shows that 44 percent of registered voters remain undecided, underscoring how early and fluid the race remains.
Bianco, who has spent 32 years in public service and built his career in law enforcement, says California is at a pivotal moment. He believes his background positions him to redirect the state’s priorities and appeal to voters beyond traditional party lines.
Although California has not elected a Republican governor in more than a decade, Bianco says he is running a campaign focused on character and results, not partisan labels. He emphasizes that many of the issues Californians face — safety, government accountability, and access to resources — affect all voters regardless of political affiliation.
He notes that his message resonates across the political spectrum, saying that voters want safer communities and a government that works for them. Bianco says those goals rise above party identity.
The sheriff’s campaign is centered around three key issues: education, infrastructure, and public safety. Bianco argues that California classrooms need more support, roads and bridges require urgent upgrades, and public safety remains his top concern. He says his experience in law enforcement will guide his approach to improving the criminal justice system and strengthening community safety statewide.
Additional details from Bianco’s platform, as well as perspectives from other major candidates, are expected as the race continues to take shape.
