Palm Springs Native and Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Named Festival of Lights Parade Grand Marshal
Jada Mclean, a celebrated Dallas Cowboys All-Star Cheerleader and one of the standout figures from Netflix’s America’s Sweethearts, is returning to her roots as the community grand marshal for this year’s Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade. The 25-year-old performer grew up in the Coachella Valley, where her passion for dance flourished inside the halls of Palm Springs High School. Mclean credits her former teacher, Alexis Acker, for recognizing her potential early and encouraging her to pursue dance at the highest level.
Her journey from a local dance student to a globally recognized performer has been anything but simple. Alongside her five seasons cheering for one of the NFL’s most high-profile teams, Mclean balanced a demanding schedule that included full-time work and rigorous rehearsals five days a week. Despite the challenges, she describes the experience as deeply rewarding, giving her the opportunity to travel, meet fans, and represent a world-renowned organization.
Returning to Palm Springs for the beloved holiday parade is a homecoming filled with warmth and nostalgia. Mclean says the event has always been a childhood favorite—especially watching Santa conclude the night—and being chosen as grand marshal is a meaningful honor. Now working as a social media content creator with aspirations to travel the world, she hopes her story inspires others to chase their dreams, no matter where they begin.
Mclean will lead the Festival of Lights Parade as the community celebrates her accomplishments and welcomes her back home.
