Three Displaced After Structure Fire Engulfs Home in Indio

Three people were displaced after a structure fire broke out Tuesday afternoon in Indio.

According to fire officials, the fire started around 2:42 p.m. in the 82,200 block of Kenner Avenue. When crews arrived on scene, they found the home heavily engulfed in flames. Due to concerns the fire could spread to a nearby structure, additional fire engines were called in to assist with containment.

Firefighters were able to keep the flames confined to the original structure, and the fire was contained just under an hour later.

Two adults and one juvenile were displaced as a result of the fire. The American Red Cross is currently assisting those impacted.

Authorities say no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
