‘Pillion’ Premieres in Theaters: A Coming-of-Age Romantic Drama About Love and Vulnerability

The romantic drama Pillion, directed by Harry Leighton and based on the 2020 novel Box Hill by Adam Mars Jones, is now playing in theaters. The film follows a young gay man, Colin, navigating love and self-discovery, with standout performances from Alexander Skarsgard as the cool yet vulnerable Ray and Harry Melling as Colin.

Leighton described the novel as both emotionally engaging and thought-provoking, inspiring his debut feature. Skarsgard highlighted the vulnerability beneath Ray’s enigmatic surface, while Melling emphasized Colin’s coming-of-age journey, shaped by his relationship with Ray. The film features memorable scenes such as a singing sequence and wrestling scene, blending humor, romance, and heartfelt storytelling.
