Master Potters From Mexico Demonstrate Traditional Pottery at Cabot's Museum This Weekend

Cabot's Pueblo Museum is hosting renowned potters from Mata Ortiz, Mexico through Sunday in a free event that lets visitors watch master artisans create pottery using techniques passed down through generations.

The Cultural Weekend features the Silveira family, with second- and third-generation potters demonstrating their craft. If the weather cooperates, they'll fire pottery on the ground using traditional methods, then auction off the finished pieces.

The event serves as a fundraiser for both the museum and the participating artists. Visitors can interact with the potters, watch them work, and purchase pieces to support the continuation of this traditional art form.
