An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Tuesday, March 17, 2026!
An Extreme Heat Warning has been posted for the Coachella Valley from Wednesday into Saturday when high temperatures will exceed 105-degrees each day.
Today, the Valley will see plenty of sunshine with very low relative humidity and above-normal high temperatures just above 100-degrees.
Next -- as an expanding upper-level ridge of high pressure centers itself over Southern California -- Valley midday temps are expected to peak anywhere between 105° and 109° on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Skies will be clear, winds light, and dew points will hover around 30° each of those afternoons.
New high temperature records will be set each day this week -- not only in the Valley -- but much of the Southwest.
Next week Monday, a weakening trough of low pressure will play a role in pulling down those temps... but only slightly. See images for details.
