Lane Closure Coming to Avenue 52 Starting Monday

Drivers in La Quinta should expect slowdowns on Avenue 52 starting Monday, March 23, as the Imperial Irrigation District conducts underground utility work east of Jefferson Street.

The single-lane closure will remain in place through Friday, April 3, and IID says delays are most likely during peak morning and afternoon commute hours. The district is asking drivers to use alternate routes where possible and to expect some wait time if staying on Avenue 52.

No timeline has been given for specific daily work hours, but the project is expected to wrap up in roughly two weeks.
