A Palm Desert Groomer Is Giving Rescue Dogs a Fresh Start, One Bath at a Time
With animal shelters at or beyond capacity across the Coachella Valley, a Palm Desert small business owner is doing her part to get rescue dogs into homes, one grooming session at a time.
Jenna, the owner of The Waggin' Oasis, offers free grooming services to rescue dogs, betting that a clean, fresh-looking pup has a better shot at catching a potential adopter's eye.
Jenna launched her business using money she earned as a surrogate mother, and she runs it as a family operation alongside her husband. "I just love the business, I love providing for my kids, I love the hustle of it," Jenna said.
Laura Morales, of Desert Paws Sanctuary, has seen the results firsthand. She says Jenna's services have helped countless dogs find forever homes. "It brings so much happiness to me, to our animals, and to everyone that works with us," Laura said.
For Jenna, the work is straightforward: a dog that looks its best is a dog more likely to get adopted. Every appointment at The Waggin' Oasis is, in her words, a second chance at a loving home.
