Local Animal Charity Shatters Fundraising Record at Sold-Out Faux Fur Ball
Greater Palm Springs Animal Allies raised roughly $820,000 at its annual Faux Fur Ball on Saturday, blowing past its fundraising goal at a sold-out evening held at the Palm Springs Air Museum.
This year's event carried a masquerade theme and drew a full house for a reception on the museum tarmac. Funds will primarily benefit the Palm Springs Animal Shelter, with guests also given the chance to support the Desert Wildlife Center in Indio.
Greater Palm Springs Animal Allies, formerly known as Friends of the Palm Springs Animal Shelter, operates three facilities across the Coachella Valley: the Palm Springs Animal Shelter, the Desert Wildlife Center, and the Desert Community Animal Center, a low-cost veterinary clinic in Desert Hot Springs.
