Big Bear Lake Spring Events 2026: Restaurant Week, Polar Plunge, Earth Month and Outdoor Festivals

Big Bear Lake is welcoming spring with a full lineup of events focused on food, the outdoors, and community connection.
According to Visit Big Bear, the season offers a chance to experience the mountain destination with milder weather and fewer crowds, while still enjoying a packed calendar of activities throughout April and into May.
One of the highlights is Big Bear Restaurant Week, running April 5 through April 12, where local restaurants will feature special menus and dishes, giving visitors a chance to explore the area’s growing dining scene.
April also marks Earth Month, with volunteer opportunities and educational programs designed to support the region’s natural environment. Visitors can take part in cleanup efforts and outdoor activities that promote conservation.
Another unique offering is Climate & Cocktails, held on select dates, where participants help clean trails or public spaces before gathering at a local business for a hosted drink, blending community service with a social experience.
From April 13 through April 20, Dark Sky Week will highlight Big Bear’s night skies with events like guided stargazing hikes and themed experiences such as the Dark Brew Trail. The week also features a Plein Air Art Competition, where artists paint landscapes outdoors, with opportunities for visitors to watch and purchase original works.
The Big Bear Polar Plunge returns April 18, inviting participants to brave the cold waters of the lake to raise money for Special Olympics Inland Empire. The event draws crowds with costumes, fundraising efforts, and shoreline spectators.
Spring events continue into May with Big Bear Lake Maifest on May 23, followed by the Reel Ale Festival and the Fishin’ for $50K Trout Tournament on May 30 and 31.
With live music, outdoor recreation, and community gatherings happening throughout the season, Big Bear Lake offers a quieter but still vibrant getaway for spring travelers.
