Death Investigation Underway After Fire in Indio

A death investigation is underway following a late-night fire in Indio.

Authorities, along with crews from CAL FIRE, responded to a home on Via Turin just after 11 p.m. Monday.

When firefighters arrived, they discovered a 68-year-old man dead outside the burning residence. No other victims were found at the scene.

Arson investigators are now working to determine what caused the fire, while the Riverside County Coroner’s Office continues its investigation into the man’s death.

Officials have not yet released the victim’s identity, and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
