Firebirds Hosting Autism Acceptance Night Today with Sensory-Friendly Game

Hockey fans in the Coachella Valley can expect a more inclusive experience at the rink tonight.

The Coachella Valley Firebirds are hosting a special autism acceptance night during their home matchup against the Henderson Silver Knights.

To make the game more comfortable for all fans, the team is offering a low-sensory environment, removing strobe lights, eliminating loud horns, and lowering music levels throughout the arena.

A designated sensory-friendly space will also be available at Acrisure Arena, giving guests a quiet place to take a break if needed.

The game is set for 6:30 p.m., and tickets are still available.

NBC Palm Springs will also be live on-site during the 5 and 6 p.m. newscasts, inviting fans to stop by and join in on the night focused on inclusion and community.
