Eisenhower Health Parkinson’s Wellness Expo Connects Coachella Valley Community

Local medical experts, nonprofits, and community members came together for Eisenhower Health’s annual Parkinson’s Wellness Expo, an event focused on education, support, and improving quality of life for those living with Parkinson’s disease.

Now in its fifth year, the expo drew hundreds of attendees from across the Coachella Valley, including individuals recently diagnosed and those who have been managing the condition for years.

For Craig, who recently moved to the desert after his diagnosis, the event provided an opportunity to connect and learn. He says living with Parkinson’s is a constant challenge, with symptoms like tremors affecting daily life.

The expo offered a wide range of resources, including information on medications, exercise programs, and local support groups. Organizers say access to these tools is critical, especially as Parkinson’s continues to grow as one of the fastest-rising neurological conditions in the country.

Eileen with the Parkinson’s Resource Organization says the Coachella Valley offers a variety of exercise and wellness options that can help patients maintain a good quality of life—but education and consistency are key.

With April marking Parkinson’s Awareness Month, organizers say events like this play an important role in building community, sharing knowledge, and empowering individuals to take control of their health.

For many attendees, the biggest takeaway is knowing they’re not alone—and that support is available right here in the valley.
