Coachella and Stagecoach Generate $700 Million, Boost Indio Economy and Jobs

Governor Gavin Newsom has released new economic figures highlighting the massive impact of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and Stagecoach Festival on the Coachella Valley.

According to the report, the two festivals generate a combined $700 million in economic activity, reinforcing their role as major drivers of the region’s economy.

A significant portion of that impact is felt locally in Indio, where more than $100 million is added annually to the city’s economic value. Officials say the festivals not only boost tourism but also create opportunities for local businesses, vendors, and hospitality services.

The report also highlights the employment benefits tied to festival season. Temporary jobs connected to the events account for more than 10,000 positions, providing a seasonal economic boost for residents across the valley.

In terms of attendance, approximately 250,000 people visit the region during the Coachella festival period alone. Ticket sales in 2025 reached about 120,000 per weekend, totaling roughly 240,000 attendees across both weekends.

With global attention and continued sellout crowds, both festivals remain key economic engines for the desert, bringing in visitors from around the world while supporting local jobs and businesses.
