An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Thursday, April 16, 2026!
As a frontal boundary moves through the Southwest, we will experience a few changes to our forecast over the next 48-hours.
As this system approaches Southern California today, on-shore winds will strengthen during the afternoon and evening hours.
After this trough exits our area, surface winds will shift from the West to the Northeast. These Santa Ana winds will be at their strongest during the morning hours on Friday.
A Wind Advisory has been posted through Friday afternoon for a large area of the Southland including Eastern Riverside County and most of San Bernardino County.
While Valley high temperatures will remain in the middle-80s, we'll be under lots of middle-and-upper level clouds today followed by all sunshine for your Friday.
Those Santa Ana winds will also proved extremely dry air on Friday and Saturday. In fact, middle-of-the-day dew points and relative humidity will hover in the single-digits both afternoons.
You can expect lots of sunshine Saturday with filtered sunshine on Sunday when temps peak around 90° both afternoons. See images for details.
