Report: Coachella Weekend Two Ends with Arrests and Parking Challenges
The second weekend of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival wrapped up Sunday with large crowds and steady traffic across Indio.
The Indio Police Department says parking lots reached capacity over the weekend, forcing some drivers to be redirected to the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
Authorities reported 106 arrests during the festival’s second weekend. Most were related to drug offenses, along with other violations including DUI, fake identification, and trespassing.
Officers also issued 87 handicap-related citations, many involving the misuse of disabled parking placards.
Officials say despite the enforcement activity, overall operations remained manageable as the festival came to a close.
