Rancho Mirage Students Use Theater to Promote Earthquake Preparedness

Students at Rancho Mirage High School are using the power of live performance to educate the community about earthquake safety and emergency preparedness.

The school’s theatre department has partnered with several local agencies to present a special production at the Helen Galen Performing Arts Center. The free event features 25 student performers and is designed to both inform and engage audiences.

Community partners include the American Red Cross, CAL FIRE, Eisenhower Health, the City of Rancho Mirage, and Southern California Gas Company.

Organizers say the goal is to combine education with entertainment, helping residents better understand how to prepare for emergencies in a way that is accessible and memorable.

By blending storytelling with practical safety information, the production aims to empower community members with the knowledge they need to respond effectively in the event of an earthquake.
