Fred began his journey as a sports anchor at KYEL-TV in Yuma, Arizona-El Centro, California, and later moved to KVUE in Austin, Texas. Roggin's career took a significant turn when he joined KNBC in Los Angeles in December 1980, coming from KPNX in Phoenix, Arizona. Over the years, he has become a familiar face and voice in sports media, known for his engaging and insightful coverage.

Fred has also made notable contributions to national sports broadcasting. He has worked with NBC Sports, covering various Olympic events, including curling and boxing. His versatility and expertise have made him a respected figure in the industry. His radio career has seen him collaborate with notable personalities like T.J. Simers and Leeann Tweeden. Roggin's contributions to sports media have been recognized with his induction into the Southern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 1993. Recently, he returned to television with “The Roggin Report” on KMIR-TV in Palm Springs, continuing to share his insights and passion for sports with a new audience.
