Saturday will be warm and wonderful here in the Coachella Valley before a new cold front drops into SoCal. Precipitation will develop late Saturday night or early Sunday morning from the coast to the mountains. Peak rainfall rates are expected Sunday afternoon or early evening (locally 0.4″ per hour in the San Bernardino County Mountains). Windy conditions will occur Sunday and Sunday night in the mountains and deserts.  Southwest to west winds 25 to 35 MPH with local gusts 50 to 60 MPH will occur from the mountain crests east into the deserts. Snow levels will fall from 7000 feet early Sunday to 5500 feet late Sunday afternoon/evening.  A few inches of snow are possible in the mountains (especially San Bernardino County).
